After having typhoid fever about four years ago, I was left with what the doctors and nurses claimed was the formation of gallstones. As I was always fearing the operation which the doctors said was the only way of relief from this suffering I was on the lookout for some other curative system which would help me to regain my health.
I saw a friend of mine who had been a student of Christian Science and told him I would like to take up the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. He sent me to one of the reading rooms, where I secured this marvelous book by Mrs. Eddy and started reading it, and on page 1, I found this which I dwelt on more than anything else for two months, "Prayer, watching, and working, combined with self-immolation, are God's gracious means for accomplishing whatever has been successfully done for the Christianization and health of mankind." At the end of three months I was healed. I am thankful for what Mrs. Eddy has given us, that we may see the healthfulness of life, and be awakened from the material into the spiritual sense of it. I trust this testimony will help some one as I have been helped.
