With sincere gratitude I send this acknowledgment of the benefits received from Christian Science. About sixteen years ago I was lent a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I commenced reading merely to satisfy my curiosity as to its teaching. Not knowing that Christian Science was a religion I was greatly surprised at the beautiful truth contained in its textbook, and upon the application of this truth I was able to make it practical in my experience, thereby gaining an understanding of God for which I have never ceased to be thankful. My mother, hungering for spiritual food, commenced reading Science and Health, with no thought of physical healing, but the understanding she received of God and her relation to Him caused her to read the book with such absorbed interest that she was healed of a malignant growth without being aware that the healing was taking place until the disease had vanished into nothingness. She was also healed at the same time of what was considered a serious kidney trouble.
In my immediate family we have had healings of typhoid pneumonia and scarlet fever, also partial paralysis, croup, and many minor ailments. The two younger children, sixteen and nine years of age, have known no remedy but that of divine Mind, for which they frequently express their gratitude.
