I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me. Sickness, accidents, the fear of accidents, sensitiveness, shortage of supply, and other forms of discord have been overcome by Christian Science.
It is just over a year since, one Saturday evening, coming home from work, I was riding on my bicycle down a rather steep road. On my handlebars I had a bag containing heavy groceries, and the bag straps became wedged in the brake springs so that I could not use my brakes at all, and was all the time gaining speed. Just then a group of children ran into the road, and in trying to turn on to a side street to avoid them I mounted the footpath and was thrown off my bicycle, striking my head against a rain pipe and falling with my arm under me. A lady who was passing at the time helped me to my feet, and, after realizing that God is everywhere present, I mounted my bicycle and rode home. After I had spoken of the accident to a few friends the arm was noticed to be black and swollen, and fear crept in. I went to a doctor, who said it might be all right in a week or so, but that it required complete rest. From the doctors I went to a practitioner, who gave me treatment, and I was able to go to my work on the following Monday morning.
For this and the many blessings I have received, and am now receiving, I am indeed grateful, grateful to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to all those who have so lovingly helped me.—Rochdale, England.
