It is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony of what Christian Science has done for me through the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Science was first brought to me by a very dear friend. At the time I heard of it I was in perfect health, but I bought my books and found much pleasure in reading them. I seemed to grow nearer to God each day. But in May, 1919, I was taken very ill with acute Bright's disease. My husband not knowing Christian Science and I only a child in it, we called a physician. He treated me for some time but with no success. I was getting worse all the time. I was put on a bread and milk diet and lost flesh till I only weighed ninety-three pounds. One day the doctor said I would live but a very short time; he said from six hours to three days. When he said this the truth seemed to come to me, and as soon as he left I told my husband I would have Christian Science treatment. I called a practitioner and told her of my condition. From then on I stopped taking medicine and I got up from my bed, and that night I ate a very hearty supper. It was not over three days till I was in almost perfect health, and in a few weeks I had gained my strength back and was in normal condition.
If space permitted, I could fill pages telling of benefits and blessings which have come to me and mine through the study of Christian Science. I am thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her knowledge of the Scriptures, which has made the Bible practical in daily life, comforting the sorrowing and healing the sick.— Rawlins, Wyoming.
