Testimonies of Healing

Words are inadequate to express...

From the February 1921 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the benefits I have received through Christian Science, not only for the physical healing, but for the spiritual awakening, for thought uplifted from the false sense of self. At the time Christian Science was presented to me I was practically an invalid, unable to do my own work, and was most miserable indeed, a physical wreck, and without hope. I was suffering from an internal disease, also dropsy, distressing headaches of three weeks' duration, nervousness, extreme weakness, and heart trouble, which was so bad that my life was despaired of; in fact, the doctors held out very little hope for my recovery. At this time a kind practitioner treated me, and I am very thankful to say that by her faithful and loving work I was freed from these ailments.

During all this time I was an earnest seeker after Truth, diligently studying the Bible and praying for wisdom and understanding, for Jesus has said, "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Those words were a source of comfort and help to me. I could tell of many other benefits, one in particular being the healing of milk leg, which followed childbirth, from which I suffered intense pain and inconvenience, being unable to stand much or to walk for a number of years. Now I am thankful to say I have been wonderfully helped and benefited. God's loving, guiding, and protecting care was clearly shown to me during the recent influenza epidemic which was raging all around and about our home. We escaped by firmly knowing the truth and realizing that God is ever present, and where God is there is no epidemic of disease.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the practitioners for their loving help,—also for the Sentinel, Journal, and Monitor. To me they are bright angel visitors.—
