I have received so much help from the testimonies of others that I think mine will surely help some one. Years ago, during an epidemic of tonsillitis, all my children were down with it, and one especially was very ill. That evening a piano agent came to my house, and, learning of the child's illness, spoke of Christian Science, and I grasped at anything which promised to help her. I asked God to show me the right way, and the peace that no mortal can give or take away came to me. I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner, who requested that the material remedies we were using be discontinued. I struggled over it, but finally removed the poultices and left the room, as the child was in a very high fever. When I returned, the fever was gone and she was sound asleep, and in the morning was all right.
As I could not read English, I was unable to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, but the man who recommended Christian Science to me said I would be able to, and I soon learned to read it. I was suffering from dropsy at the time and by reading Science and Health overcame it in six weeks. I have had many demonstrations since, and have depended on the healing power of God in every instance. I cannot be grateful enough to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy.— Brooklyn, Iowa.
