THE PROOF

From the March 1921 issue of The Christian Science Journal

OUR Master said to the widow's son:
Young man, I say Arise!
And a victory over death was won,
To the mother's glad surprise.

And then, Talitha cumi,
To the little maid he said,
And the shadow dark and gloomy
Was gone; for she was not dead.

Lazarus, come forth,
Heard the people standing by;
And Lazarus came from out the tomb,
To prove that man cannot die.

The Master left us this message,
Plainly it can be read:
Heal the sick, and cast out demons;
Preach the gospel; raise the dead.

And if we wish to be like him
And tread the path he trod,
We must prove, by our work of healing,
Just what we know of God.
