From the March 1921 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In gratitude for proof that "the word of God is quick and powerful," when intelligently applied to any situation or circumstance in accordance with the teachings of Christian Science, I lovingly submit the following testimony of healing. One very hot day last summer, while at play in the park my little seven-year-old son became exhausted and fell from the top of a ten-foot ladder. He got up, staggered toward me, and fell in a faint. I carried him to a bench and did what I could, under the circumstances, to help him. A crowd was gathering, and while I was striving to know the truth, I was battling with an overwhelming sense of fear and faintness. My son's chin was swollen to an abnormal size and was apparently very badly cut.

At this point Christian Science help was requested, and with timely and loving aid I soon realized that my strength is in God, and was able to reach home, pulling the boy in his little wagon; for although he had revived somewhat he was in pain and unable to walk as yet. A few minutes after reaching home, while sitting by his couch, the fear, which had seemed so to overshadow my thought, quite suddenly vanished, and in its place came a joyful realization that the healing had taken place. That this was true was manifested in various ways. Color came into the boy's cheeks, he smiled and said, "Why. mama, my wrist is all right now and my side has stopped hurting; I don't need this any more," and he pulled off the plaster which had been placed on his chin while in the park. To my happy surprise the cut, which I had thought would require stitches, had drawn together and was hardly more than a scratch. He then arose, perfectly healed, and went two blocks to tell the practitioner the joyful news and to express his gratitude for the help received. When I think of what our little boy was delivered from, and of this healing having taken place in just one hour from the time of the seeming accident, my heart overflows with gratitude for this added proof of our right and ability to utilize the truth in every circumstance or condition, and for Christian Science, through a knowledge of which we are able to prove that God "is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think."

The blessings we have received through the study and application of Christian Science, some of which are health, happiness, and contentment, cannot be counted; they are like God's glorious sunshine which cannot be put into a measure.—
