CHRISTIAN FAITH

From the May 1922 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Scientists have found in the teachings of Mrs. Eddy the solution to the riddle of the universe, for therein is revealed the practical answer to Job's troubled questionings concerning man's true being as well as to Pilate's more pointed query, "What is truth?" For them, the Persian poet's couplet, inquiring as to man's origin and destiny, has no mystery.

What, without asking, hither hurried
whence?
And without asking, whither hurried
hence!

To the materialistic philosopher it may appear that the Christian idealist swings clear of the moorings of rationality to sail the seas of mere speculation, without chart or compass, and with no possible port of destination. But the devout Christian Scientist finds in the teachings of Christ Jesus, as interpreted by Christian Science, the Principle and law of the universe.
