God is good! He is "a very present help in trouble." Always, when we go to Him with love and understanding, He heals and saves us, for He is Life.
Since childhood I have had many healings in Christian Science. Measles, fevers, and frequent bleeding of the nose have been overcome. One day, when nearly the whole school had either chicken pox or mumps, I was sent home with one cheek larger than the other. I worked in Science all the afternoon, and read, over and over, the article entitled "Contagion" on page 228 of "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mary Baker Eddy. The next morning, I went back to school perfectly well.
The Christian Science Sunday School teaches us how to use for our every need what we learn there. In school, when I realized that all is Mind and that by reflection I had this perfect intelligence, I succeeded well in an examination in geometry, which
I had very much dreaded. At the beginning of the hour, when I saw the long list of questions, I was afraid I should not be able to finish; but when I knew there is always time to think about God, I finished on time. The month before, when I had relied only on cramming, I failed hopelessly.
Another beautiful demonstration was the following. The sun shone very brightly on the windshield of a passing automobile and flashed into my eyes. At the time, I did not notice it especially; but within a few hours I could not see well, and in the next few days I grew worse and worse. Finally, when I could not even see across the room, I asked a practitioner for treatment. By the following evening I saw perfectly.
These are by no means all the healings I have had; but so, by proof I know that God is indeed good.—
