Eight years ago, as my husband was returning from business, he fell into a coma which lasted two nights and a day. I at once sent for a physician, in order to be informed regarding this illness. On seeing my husband, the physician said: "It is exceedingly serious; I cannot specifically pronounce on the case. It is congestion of the brain or meningitis. In any case, he must go to the hospital, as it is impossible for you to nurse him at home." To this I refused my consent. He prescribed various remedies; but several days passed without any result, and he then told me he wished a second doctor to be called in consultation. After their consultation, the two physicians were agreed as to the urgency of sending my husband to the hospital, as neither of them was able to diagnose the case.
I did not lose courage, but applied to a Christian Science practitioner, who set to work on the case with the utmost devotion, with the result that in a short time my husband's condition improved. He began to regain strength, and his memory returned little by little. His sight also showed improvement day by day. It surely seemed a miracle.
I cannot find words in which to express my deep sense of gratitude towards God, and also my thankfulness to Mrs. Eddy, who brought to us the knowledge of Truth. Nor can I forget the practitioner and her untiring service on this occasion.— Geneva, Switzerland.
