It gives me great pleasure to express my gratitude for the benefits I have received in Christian Science. About three years ago, I had a beautiful healing of which I should like to write.
I got up in the morning in my usual good health; but a few minutes after breakfast I was taken ill, very suddenly. I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner that I needed her, and managed to reach my bed and lie down. In just a few minutes she came to me, and lovingly took up the work in Science. For a few days I grew steadily worse. The first difficulty was pleurisy; then pneumonia; and lastly an hereditary heart trouble. From the material standpoint it seemed as if it were impossible for me to recover; but we knew that "with God all things are possible," and in about three weeks I was able to go to a new home, to which our household goods had been moved. With help for one week I was able to get settled, do all my housework, and care for my family.
This is only one of the many healings we have had since taking up Christian Science about ten years ago. My husband was instantaneously healed after the doctors had said they could do nothing more for him. Our boy, at the age of ten months, was healed of whooping cough. Our little girl had a wonderful healing of influenza when it swept over the country; and colds, sore throat, and their like, have all been healed, sometimes through our understanding, at other times with the help of a practitioner.
