About five years ago, while suffering from chronic indigestion and anaemia, I was advised to ask for help in Christian Science by a friend whose opinion I much respected. The explanation of Christian Science, as given by this friend, appealed to me as offering a foundation on which to base hope; and as I had been informed by doctors that I should probably develop some disease which I should have no strength to fight in my anæmic condition,I stood greatly in need of a hopeful doctrine. The Christian Science practitioner's statement upon hearing the recital of my beliefs, "Your blood is not your life," completely overcame for me the wrong idea that life is dependent upon the condition of the blood; and the healing was accomplished in one treatment. Several visits were paid to the practitioner, as it seemed difficult at first to realize that the newly regained ability to digest food without discomfort, and to go through the day's work without fatigue, could be permanent.
Since that time there have been many healings in our family through the truth as taught in Christian Science. Our little boy was beautifully brought out of a condition of apparent listlessness and feebleness which had lasted some months, and he is now in perfect health and strength. At the time of the influenza epidemic that disease was overcome in a few days; and colds, sprains, and other difficulties have all yielded to an applied understanding of the truth about God and man.
The daily study of Christian Science is an unfailing source of inspiration and strength. The knowledge that "no wisdom is wise but His wisdom; no truth is true, no love is lovely, no life is Life but the divine; no good is, but the good God bestows," as we read on page 275 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is a potent weapon against limitation and fear of any nature. The appreciation of the priceless value of the teachings of Christian Science and my gratitude to its Discoverer and Founder, Mrs. Eddy, increase with the understanding of Truth.— Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
