It is over ten years since I first heard of Christian Science, and it would be impossible to express my gratitude for what it has done for me and for my family. Christian Science found me in a very serious condition. For nine years I had suffered from a skin irritation which was fast driving me into a serious nervous state. Like the woman in the New Testament, I "had suffered many things of many physicians, . . . and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse." My healing in Christian Science came slowly; but during that time I was learning many valuable lessons, especially those of tolerance and humility, both very necessary in my case. During that time I was also healed of rheumatism, sick headaches, tonsillitis, and severe backache; these various diseases just seemed to fade away. I am deeply grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for teaching us the true meaning of the First Commandment; for before studying Christian Science, as taught us in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I did not know how many gods I had been worshiping. Fear was the greatest of all; but the loving guidance of the practitioner helped me along the upward path.
We have had numerous healings in our family of four during these past years, and through the protective power of the truth have avoided many of the ills that are supposed to come to children. These are some of the blessings God has bestowed upon us; and to show my gratitude I hope to be able to help others to know of His goodness.— Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
