Several years ago I attended a Christian Science lecture and was so deeply impressed with the logic of it that I decided I had found what I had been searching for all my life. I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing. Nevertheless, a short time after becoming interested in it I was most beautifully healed of influenza. The attack came upon me very suddenly, and a quick decision had to be made as to whether I should resort to materia medica or Christian Science for healing. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and absent treatments were begun. I shall never forget the calm assurance which I experienced in knowing that God was my physician. The healing, though seemingly slow to me, was effected in fifteen days; but I do not remember feeling an ache or a pain after treatment was begun. Although I learned afterward that those about me feared for my life, at no time did fear enter my thought.
To say that I am grateful for this healing and for the faithful help of the practitioner and the loving-kindness of neighbors, does not begin to express my feeling. During the past four years, through my slight knowledge of Truth, the children have been healed of many ailments; and we find that as we make use of the understanding we have, more is given.
I wish I might in some way better express my gratitude for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which has made the Bible mean so much more to me, and is teaching me how to seek the kingdom of God.— Rochester, N.H.
