Through the healing of my son of pneumonia several years ago, I became interested in Christian Science, although another member of the family had been studying this Science for about two years prior to that time. Soon after taking up the study, I was able to prove the efficacy of Christian Science with the aid of a practitioner, by overcoming a dislocated hip. I was up within a week after the hip was in place, and within ten days by the use of crutches walked several blocks; at the end of three weeks I went to a distant city and took charge of fifty or sixty men on construction work, which necessitated my being on my feet practically all day long. It seemed necessary for me to use a cane, but I was able to go about with very little discomfort, and I returned to my home at the end of the fourth week feeling very happy that I was able to prove to some extent the allness of God and the nothingness of matter. This proof led me to search the Scriptures and the writings of our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, to endeavor to obtain a better understanding of spiritual law. Since this experience I have been able to prove that when the teachings of Christian Science are adhered to they bring peace, joy, prosperity, and health to every individual.
