Words are inadequate to express...

From the March 1924 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God and to Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, for the wonderful blessings that have come to me through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." During the war, and while serving in France, I was severely wounded. While in this state and in great pain, all I could think was, "God is my Life, and God is my strength." With this assurance, I pulled through three successive nights. Afterwards, the head nurse told me they had all given up hope. I was finally discharged as disabled and medically unfit, and was left a physical wreck. I could not seem to get rid of pain. While I was at my home in England, I asked a Christian Science practitioner to help me; and treatment was lovingly given. From the first treatment I began to improve. The healing was slow but sure; and one day I found I was perfectly healed. I could walk, run, jump, without any ill effect whatsoever, a thing which I had not been able to do for over three years. Many other ailments were overcome; and I am now in perfect health.

Since then I have had innumerable blessings through the study of Christian Science. Unemployment and unpleasant work have been overcome by the knowledge that we can work to glorify God. I have had the great privilege of being one of the associates of the Christian Science sanatorium. I also enjoy the privilege of attending The Mother Church services, for which I cannot express my gratitude in words.—
