Christian Science came to me in the year 1913, at a time when most needed. I was suffering from a very bad nervous breakdown and severe skin disease on the face, also internal troubles for which I took treatment until our family physician gave me up. He said he could do no more for me. I thanked him for being frank with me, but thought I had nothing more to live for. Just then came Christian Science with the healing truth. I was ready to try anything, so I did certainly reach out for something better. I asked for treatment and was entirely healed of all my sickness; for which I am more than grateful. Last fall I had a large boil on my arm, and was able to overcome this error by the application of the spiritual truth. I was also healed of a great sorrow that came into my life. It seemed a heavy burden, but it was lifted and overcome completely through the realization that there is in reality no separation.
My blessings are so many that they can hardly be told; therefore I cannot say too much for Christian Science, as it means everything to me. Christ Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give." It is my greatest joy and pleasure to give a "cup of cold water in Christ's name"(p. 570) as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 570) to my fellow-man, and seek my own good in helping others as I have been helped.
I am so thankful to God, the Giver of "every good gift;" to Christ Jesus, who came to save us all; and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. My gratitude for the physical healing is small compared with the gratitude I feel for the spiritual understanding and peace gained from the daily study of Christian Science, which is indeed the manna from heaven.
