"He that overcometh shall inherit all things."—Revelation 21:7.
To him that overcometh,—
The world hath changed o'ernight;
Where dark the skies had frowned before,
and earth seemed parched with blight,
Now all the land hath blossomed forth,
and skies are wondrous bright.
To him that overcometh,—
The dew seemed tears before,
So blurred and sad his aching eyes
so sick his heart, and sore;
But now each glist'ning drop 's a priceless
gem from heaven's own store.
To him that overcometh,—
His yesterdays were drear
With ceaseless want, and formless ghosts
of phantom things to fear;
But now he knows with confidence, God
holds him safe and dear.
To him that overcometh,—
His life is richly blest;
He finds the boundless wealth of God's
great mercies manifest;
The joys of freedom, too, are his,
with peace and heavenly rest.
