I consider it a great privilege to testify to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. I had suffered for many years from fainting attacks and from a very severe bowel trouble, and had been treated by many doctors.
It is nearly ten years since I attended my first Christian Science meeting in Edinburgh. The religion at once appealed to me. I got the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, on loan at the Reading Room, and read it eagerly. It was a great joy to me to learn that Christian Science teaches that good is natural and all-powerful, and that evil is only an impotent counterfeit. I began to realize that Christian Science defines the truth about God and man, and that the healing of sin and disease is sure to follow a correct understanding of its teaching.
From that time my constant aim has been to get closer to God, and to understand and obey His spiritual law. As I continued to read, my physical ailments disappeared, and have never returned. A few months after taking up the study of Science and Health I asked a practitioner to help me overcome a feverish chill. I was healed in one treatment. I was deeply grateful for this proof, and especially grateful for the wonderful spiritual uplift which accompanied it.
