It is about six years since I took up the study of Christian Science, and I wish to say how grateful I feel for the many blessings it has brought into my life. I had not long to wait for a proof of its healing power. When I first began to read our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I had been wearing glasses for a few years, as my eyes were giving me a good deal of trouble. At times it was quite painful to read even with them on. Before I had read halfway through Science and Health I found I was able to dispense with the glasses entirely. This proof of God's love was a revelation to me, and satisfied me that I had indeed found the "Key" to the Bible.
This healing was a great encouragement to me, as I seemed to have many difficult problems to face about that time. During the war, when I had occasion to be medically examined, I was told by one doctor that I should have to be very careful all my life as my heart was in a serious condition. This healing was slow, and required a lot of patience and study of the Bible and Science and Health. With the loving help of a practitioner, I am pleased to say the condition was entirely healed. I am now able to enjoy all forms of activity without feeling any inconvenience whatever.
During the last six years I have taken no medicine of any kind, and my improved health is entirely due to the teaching of Christian Science. It has met my need on every occasion when it has been properly applied. When passing through a time of great sorrow, Christian Science was of the greatest comfort to me. During that trial my every need was met in a most beautiful way. I had proof over and over again that God is indeed a very present help in time of trouble. Christian Science has made me better, and has taught me the importance of keeping the Golden Rule, "All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them."
