"SHOWERS OF BLESSING"

From the November 1925 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Showers of blessing," weary pilgrim,
"Showers of blessing" is the vow;
God hath spoken it, my brother;
Search and find them here and now.

Does thy day seem fraught with shadow,
And thy step go forth with doubt?
Just before thee wait His blessings,
And His love is round about.

Does thy strength, in sorrow waning,
Leave thee stricken on the way?
Lift thine eyes, thy heart, thy courage,
And His hand shall be thy stay.

Do ingratitude and hatred
Seem the wages of thy toil?
Justice rules thy Father's kingdom,
Nor His courts shall men despoil.

Does the cloud of dearth and discord
Dim the path that thou must take?
All He hath thy Father offers;
Take it gladly for His sake.

Does thy sun go down with weeping,
And thy spirit strive alone?
God Himself beside thee journeys,
And His portion is thine own.

"Showers of blessing," weary pilgrim,
"Showers of blessing" is the vow;
God hath spoken it, my brother;
Search and find them here and now.
