THE healing power of ever present Love, which is being demonstrated in Christian Science, is attracting very many to investigate it. Those who are healed are in turn immediately desirous of helping others to be free from the bondage of sin, sickness, and depressing human cares. If they would be successful in their mission, however, these must not try to force the acceptance of Truth through overzealous arguments and human will.
Through experience, the earnest Christian Scientist learns to drop human ways and means and to adopt the tender, gentle persuasion of divine Love, manifested in good deeds and moderation of speech and action. It is this spirit of Love, the genuine evidence of the healing power of divine Love, that wins others to share the blessings of Christian Science.
Jesus, the master Metaphysician, left marvelous examples of such loving-kindness. While it is recorded that he sternly rebuked error on occasion, he meekly taught by healing, by simple parables, and often by gentle acts of kindness. He fully relied upon the persuasiveness of divine Love to attract suffering humanity to the healing power of Truth. By his affection and consideration for others he rebuked the pride of his followers, illustrating the tender solicitude for the welfare of all that Love always imparts. He washed the disciples' feet, made himself available to little children, accepted the adoring ministrations of the social outcast,Mary Magdalene, prepared a breakfast of fish for his hungry and weary disciples after their night of profitless fishing, and fed the five thousand whom the disciples would have sent away hungry.
