Christian Science has been the greatest experience in my life. It has opened a door into a new existence, which I was not aware of before. Indeed, I count my life as commencing from that day, eight years ago, when I first looked into it; what was before was not worth calling life. At that time I was in a miserable state mentally and physically. I shall never forget the joy I felt when I first read Mrs. Eddy's book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."' It was a "key" for me to the practical truth the Bible contains when it revealed a near-by God, instead of the far-off judge-potentate I was educated to believe in from the orthodox Lutheran religion. In the following years Christian Science has brought to me many healings and blessings, and I know it saved my life one night in 1918. This was done through one hour's reading in Science and Health.
I want hereby to express my deepest gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who was brave enough and spiritually-minded enough to bring the truth about God and man to a material age. My thanks go out also to the dear practitioners for their faithful and loving help in the dark hours. Without exception they are the most high-minded and noble people I ever met. The beautiful church services and the periodicals have likewise been of great importance to me. My thanks go out every day to God for the privilege of living in this present time, which is so full of blessings.
Besides the physical and mental healings, I have had many proofs of God's wonderful protection through the understanding of Christian Science. I should like to tell of one of the latter class, as it seems to me of importance to know that our Father-mother God is near at hand, not only in time of sickness but in every circumstance that can happen in our daily life.
