I am glad to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science, for the loving and unselfish life and work of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and for the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," written by her.
About five years ago I borrowed a copy of the Christian Science textbook, and through reading it was healed of astigmatism, for which I had worn glasses more than three years. I had been very much troubled with headaches, and if I tried to read or write or sew without glasses a severe headache was the result. As I was still in school at the time, the glasses were in constant use, except when I was out of doors. One day when reading the textbook I realized suddenly that I had been reading for some time without glasses, but the dreaded headache had not come; and I knew that Christian Science had healed me. Since then I have had ample opportunity to prove that this healing is indeed complete.
I have had many other proofs of the healing power of Christian Science. I have been healed of carbuncles, kidney trouble, colds, toothache; and many times the application of the truth as taught in Christian Science has brought quick and complete relief from pain. I received great help from treatment by a Christian Science practitioner when I was having some teeth filled which were to sense very painful. I am very grateful for this experience, which helped me to gain a clearer understanding of that Love which "casteth out fear;" and this delivered me from a great sense of fear and discouragement.
