Christian Science was presented to me three years ago, at a time when I was very much discouraged and had almost lost hope of ever seeing my little six-year-old daughter well again. She had been a sufferer for several years from what had been termed tubercular glands of the neck. She had undergone several operations on them, and had also been operated on for the removal of her tonsils, in the hope that these operations might benefit her condition; but they failed to do so. Then one of our physicians advised us to try X-ray treatments. After about a month of these treatments, with no marked improvement, we removed to another city, partly for business reasons, but chiefly in order that we might secure the services of a specialist of whom we had heard, and who, we thought, might be able to help the child more. Not long after our arrival in our new home I met a dear friend who told me of Christian Science and thought it would help my little girl.
I willingly accepted her advice and was glad to put the child under the great Physician's care, instead of seeking further material help. A dear practitioner, to whom divine Love led me, lovingly consented to help her, and I shall never cease to be grateful for the day I first took my little girl to her. The child improved from the start, and was healed, not only of this trouble, but also of constipation, colds, and whooping cough, and has improved greatly in disposition as well as health. Prior to Christian Science treatment she had been irritable, peevish, and impatient, which the medical doctors attributed to her rundown physical condition. She is now quite a different child, is in the best of health and is able to demonstrate the healing power of Christian Science in many ways for herself.
While my heart is full of gratitude for this healing of my child. I am none the less grateful for physical healings that I myself have experienced, such as the healing of constipation, neuralgia, headaches, and the need of wearing glasses. These healings were all instantaneous, and came through the reading of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
