Several years have passed since dear friends called my attention to Christian Science, which heals not only sickness but also deep sorrow. I attended a Christian Science church and found great satisfaction in its teaching, so that I had the desire to learn more of the spiritual import of the Bible, as revealed through Christian Science. Profound gratitude impels me to tell of my wonderful healing, that it may comfort other sufferers. Three years ago I fell and broke my wrist. It was set by a surgeon; but a few days later very severe pain in my head set in. The doctor did his best to relieve me, but said that at my age (sixty-five years) only nature and the Almighty could help me. Then a Christian Science practitioner was called, and with great patience and confidence in God she directed my thoughts to our Father-Mother God, with whom all things are possible, and who is able to release us from the bonds of suffering. This was proved true, and in a short time I was able to fulfill my household duties again.
Last winter I was suddenly taken very ill. I had high fever and severe pain, so I asked a Christian Science practitioner for help. I was also attended by a Christian Science nurse. Through their faith and understanding they both very lovingly helped me to rise above the shadow of death; and when, on account of the pain, I became afraid, I heard a soft whispering: "Not my will, but thine, be done." In this case, too, this helpful teaching brought me back to health. I am sincerely grateful to God for all of this great love and help, and I share in the highest degree the great reverence for Mary Baker Eddy, who brought us this simple religion, which is bringing help to everyone, blessing all mankind.—South Richmond Hill, New York.
