When I turned to Christian Science for help, I was suffering from what the doctors claimed was a complication of diseases. They said I had a tumor, hemorrhoids, heart disease, and adhesions. I had had four operations and was ready for the fifth, when a friend offered me Christian Science. In my conversation with her I was told that Christian Science was all about God. My greatest desire was that I might know more about Him. So I prayed earnestly for three days and nights to be guided which to do, to go to the operating table again or to try Christian Science. Thanks be to our Father-Mother God I was led to try Christian Science. When I called the practitioner over the telephone I asked her what she would like to have me do. Again I was assured that Christian Science was all about God, and that there was nothing impossible to Him. I was convinced there must be something to it all. This gave me hope, and so I asked for treatment. In about six weeks I was entirely healed, and doing all my housework. That was over seven years ago. The healing has been permanent.
My daughter has been healed of many physical ailments; palpitation of the heart, pneumonia, vaccination, inoculation—all were beautifully met through the understanding of the truth as taught in Christian Science. And I am indeed grateful for these healings.
I am also grateful that Christian Science is teaching me how to love my neighbor as myself. On page 248 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, we read, "We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives." Each day I try to do this, and obey the Golden Rule to do unto others as I wish to be done by.
