With a heart full of gratitude for restoration to health and the spiritual uplift I have received from the study of Christian Science, I wish to speak of an experience I had a few years ago which proved that divine Mind is ever present, and that there is neither time nor limit to its divine operation.
While traveling with my husband on one of his business trips in the East, I met with an accident one evening. It was raining, and not having an umbrella, I started to run; but I fell, so injuring my knee and breast that I was unable to get up from the pavement without help. A pedestrian seeing my plight assisted me to the house. My mother, who was with us on this trip, met me at the door and helped me into the house. A knee cap was broken and my breast badly bruised, discolored, and swollen. The pain in the knee was severe. "The scientific statement of being," as found on page 468 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was declared. My husband and my mother did what they could for me that night. We did not know of a practitioner in the East, so we wrote to Chicago for help. The knee cap and breast were healed through one absent treatment.
Mrs. Eddy says on page 424 of Science and Health, "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection." I am most grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, the Wayshower, and to our beloved and revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who so patiently and lovingly made it possible for us to understand in this age the truth of the Bible.— Chicago, Illinois.
