I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science. In the past nine years I have received many physical healings. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was given to me by a friend. I read it occasionally, but it did not mean anything to me at first. After having it about a year I picked it up one afternoon, and from the very first line I read it seemed to me the most beautiful and wonderful book I had ever read. I continued reading at every opportunity, and singing its praises to members of my family. One evening, while I was reading, the thought came to me that I might sing praises for the rest of my life, but unless I could prove some of the things I had read Christian Science would, after all, not mean much to me. That evening I decided to rely on it, and I was healed of constipation of about eighteen years' standing. About a month later I was healed of what doctors called furunculosis, affecting the ear, a trouble which three specialists had told me was incurable. This was an instantaneous healing.
While spending my vacation in a camp I was kicked very severely in the mouth, a front tooth being knocked loose. The dentist told me it must be taken out immediately, as an abscess had formed. I decided I could lose nothing by relying on the truth—I could only gain. My tooth is now in perfect condition. I have been healed of the need of wearing glasses, and have had many other beautiful proofs of God's protecting care. Christian Science has also taught me to love to study the Bible. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.—Canton, Ohio.
