FREEDOM

From the February 1928 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In quietness and confidence
We turn our thoughts to Thee,
Rejoicing in assurance sweet
Of Love that waits to free
From aught that would becloud the way,
Or dim the vision clear,
Or enter into consciousness
To sound a note of fear.

Within this ever perfect Love
Is healing from all pain,
And pardon, which destroys sin,
Restoring peace again;
And from this Love, the light of Life,
Effulgent, shines o'er all;
The dream of death no longer holds,
Nor do its fears appall.

Within the radiance of this Love
Is seen the perfect man,
His feet upon the mountain top,
New heaven and earth to scan;
"The former things are passed away;"
Love's kingdom is at hand,
Where freedom waits each child of God,
Obeying Love's command.
