Christian Science has brought me many blessings for which I am deeply grateful. It has met my every need physically and financially. But above all, it has taught me to feel and know the presence of God, divine Love. Perhaps the greatest thing that Christian Science has done for me is to have taught me that God is ever present.
When I was ten years old I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School for a few months. As I look back with gratitude I see that in the Sunday school the ground was prepared and the seed of Truth planted. Later, due to opposition from a member of the family, I was not permitted to attend the Sunday school. Nevertheless, the truth learned during those few months was like a light burning steadily to draw me to God. During my last two years of high school work, it was again my privilege to attend the Christian Science Sunday School. I wish to express my gratitude for the loving work that is being done by the teachers there. They are laying the foundation stones for strong building; they are preparing the child-thought to meet the temptations of the world, and to go forth equipped with the power and might of righteousness.
The testing time came when I attended college, and for several years thereafter; for there I found myself among those who seemed to oppose Christian Science on every hand. But as our Leader says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 410), "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger;" and (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 341), "After much slipping and clambering, you will go up the scale of Science."
