I desire to express my deep gratitude for all the demonstrations we have had through the help of Christian Science. During these last years we have had numerous proofs of the power of Truth, as taught and demonstrated by this Science. The understanding which Christian Science has brought us of the all-presence and all-power of God, as divine Love, has sustained and helped us mentally in many apparently difficult circumstances. With the help of consecrated Christian Science practitioners we have been delivered from many physical difficulties.
I want to tell here of one of the beautiful healings we have had by relying on the truth. Five years ago our son, then eight years old, was badly bitten by a dog. The lower part of his chin was torn completely open. Moreover, he had a wound on his neck; and the teeth of the animal had made deep marks near his left ear. Not allowing ourselves to be dominated by fear at the aspect of the wounds, my husband and I immediately realized the all-presence, the only presence, and the all-power of God. The child's understanding and trust helped us very much. As the blood flowed he calmly declared that blood did not give him life—that God was his Life. In a short time the hemorrhage stopped.
As it was very warm (it was in August) and the neighbors, aware of the accident, were anxious to know if we were taking precautions for the child, we asked a consecrated Christian Science practitioner for help, which was lovingly given that very evening. Our son slept peacefully, and did not complain of any suffering; he did not show any restlessness, fever, or inflammation. The next evening the skin was forming again. Some days later the child was entirely healed, and in a short time even the scars were reduced to the minimum.
