Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science and what it has done and is doing in my home; for the wonderful unfoldment of the Bible teachings; also to Mrs. Eddy for her beautiful and clear interpretation of the Bible.
I have been privileged to experience an instantaneous healing. I was taken very ill at one time and was confined to my bed for five weeks. The fourth week the doctor told my husband I would have to be taken to the hospital immediately to save my life, as peritonitis had set in. I was taken to the hospital, and after having a very good nurse and three physicians on the case, was given up to die. This, of course, was unknown to me at the time. Feeling that they were doing all that medical science would permit, and not having improved after four weeks, I asked my husband to call a Christian Science practitioner. At first he felt that this would not do any good, and not having any knowledge of Christian Science, he did not do so for several days; and I became very impatient until he finally yielded to my desire.
With the wonderful help of a loving practitioner and the desire of my husband for my recovery, I was healed within twelve hours of the time the doctor had said there was no hope left for me. The following morning I was sitting up in bed ready for breakfast, although I had not been able to eat anything for three weeks, and had taken no water for nine days. One week later I was taken home in an automobile. On arriving I was unable to stand alone, but on the second day I was able to walk to the kitchen; and the second week I was able to go down and see the practitioner myself.
