For over eight years I was bitter against Christian Science and fought against what I believed it to be; but after seeing the good it was doing in my son's family, I decided to lay aside all prejudice and endeavor to investigate it for myself. What joy and comfort it has brought me in the past ten years!
My first healing was of broken ligaments in one of my feet. I had suffered greatly from this for three years, the pain being incessant. After studying the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for a short time, I decided that now was the time to prove what Christian Science can do. At the end of three weeks the healing came. Since that time I have had many healings. One day I fell down the stairs. When I was lifted up it was thought that my back was broken; but I kept declaring the truth, and with the help of a loving practitioner was able to be up on the third day and even walk a little. Within ten days the healing was perfect. This was a wonderful proof of God's healing power.
While visiting at my son's home I had a wonderful demonstration of God's power. One morning I awoke with what to human sense was a bad attack of heart trouble, and there was every symptom of my passing on. A telegram was sent to my home city to a Christian Science practitioner, and I knew that he was working for me, for warmth came back into my body, which had been cold and had turned blue. In a very short time I dropped asleep, and slept for three hours. I awoke perfectly healed and with a glorious feeling that I had been very close to God, and had been made whole.
