For the numerous blessings which have been poured by infinite divine Love into the hearts of our children through the Christian Science Sunday School my wife and I are very grateful. We see with joy how our children recognize and apply the truth, and overcome many seemingly dangerous errors.
Some time ago our youngest child, a lively girl of seven, was playing in the street. In playing, a boy somewhat older was trying to catch her. Both children were running as fast as they could. Suddenly our little girl stumbled and fell, striking her head on the pavement. When the other children saw that she was unconscious, they called very excitedly to her twelve-year-old sister, who was playing near by, and asked if they should carry the little one home. The elder girl declined their offer, saying her sister would be able to walk home with her immediately; and she declared the truth clearly. The result was that the little one soon opened her eyes and walked home with her sister.
This seemingly bad accident bad no ill effects on the child except a bruise on her head. On the contrary, it was a new proof to the children and to us of the certainty of ever present divine protection. This sense of absolute confidence that nothing can harm our children, whether they be under our direct supervision or alone, that infinite divine Love protects and leads them, is of inestimable value to us.
