It is over thirteen years since I took up the study of Christian Science. I did not look into it first of all for healing, although I needed it very much, but for a religion. Although I was devoted to my former church, I could not find the answer to my question, What is truth? A dear sister-in-law gave me two copies of the Christian Science Sentinel, with the remark that she could not explain anything about Christian Science as she herself had not studied it. After reading the Sentinels I found that there must be much in the Bible which I did not know. I asked for my Bible and read it diligently for two weeks, finally finding in Revelation a prophecy as to the coming of Christian Science.
I did not know anything of Christian Science before this, so had no prejudice to overcome; and I simply asked God to show me the way. The same day I dressed and did all my housework, after being unable to walk or leave my bed for six weeks. Two prominent doctors who were in attendance had given me little encouragement, and my family none. I might mention that after reading the Sentinels I refused to take any medicine, but when I got up and dressed it was claimed that this act was the effect of the medicine! I however knew and rejoiced, waiting for more of God's revelation. I can truthfully say, "Whereas I was blind, now I see." My healing was perfect.
Since that time my two daughters and I have relied on God entirely for the overcoming of every disorder. My husband was wonderfully healed of a serious dog bite, injury to his foot, lumbago, hay fever, and many other discords. I have been healed of gallstones, pleurisy, a very sore ear, bad colds with a cough returning every winter, extreme constipation, a fractured arm, and ptomaine poisoning while on a trip. All these healings are only part of what Christian Science has done for us.
