Seventeen years ago I was in bondage to the flesh, having suffered many years from gallstones, Bright's disease, uremic poisoning, a bad heart, and bowel trouble. About a third of my time was spent in bed. At this time my youngest child, who was suffering from leakage of the heart valves, nervousness, and stomach trouble, was given up by the doctors after we had consulted a number of the very best in the medical profession. It was then I asked for Christian Science help, which was lovingly given by a practitioner. Although the doctors had said my son could not get well, in three days he was up and around the house. At the end of a week he was out of doors playing, entirely well; and from that day he has never been troubled with any of the above-mentioned difficulties. At the same time I was healed of the ills from which I suffered, although it took one week longer for the scars of the uremic poisoning entirely to leave the body. Since then I have never had a return of any of the old troubles.
I have had to overcome other ills, such as pneumonia and spinal meningitis; but these were very quickly healed. I might add that the spinal meningitis was completely healed in three days. Before coming into Christian Science I had the same trouble, and it was three months before I was free from suffering. I cannot overestimate the great change which has been effected in my consciousness of God. I have learned to rely entirely on Spirit and spiritual power for the solution of every human problem.
My daily prayer is for spiritual strength and understanding to prove by my work the love and thankfulness to God which is in my heart, as well as my gratitude to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.— Danville, Illinois.
