With a sense of deep gratitude I wish to testify to the many blessings my family and I have received through the teachings of Christian Science. I learned of this healing truth a few years ago, and was soon convinced that I had found the one thing needful. Prior to this I had not had the right concept of God, and of man as created in His image and likeness. Through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and Der Herold der Christian Science, I have learned more of this teaching.
In 1924 my eldest boy was suddenly taken ill with double pneumonia. He had a raging fever and was in great pain. When the doctor, after seeing him on the fourth day, made some very grave remarks, I telegraphed to a Christian Science practitioner for help, which was at once lovingly given. I knew very well that God is our only physician and that He alone could help me, but I did not as yet understand how to apply this beautiful teaching myself. After several hours the fever left and the boy began to breathe quietly. He slept peacefully the whole night through and awoke in the morning feeling quite well and asked for something to eat and drink. Thus the practitioner found, on visiting us during the morning, that the healing power of Truth had been demonstrated.
I am sincerely grateful to God for all the abundant good that has come to my family and to me, and I think of Mrs. Eddy, who has shown us the way to Truth again, with gratitude. — Hartmannsdorf b/Chemnitz,Germany.
