Christian Science was presented to me thirteen years ago, and I immediately embraced it as the "pearl of great price." I knew at once that at last I had found what I had been looking for since my earliest childhood, namely, the knowledge of a perfect God, who could send no sin, sickness, or death, and of man, to whom was given as a divine birthright all good.
Some of the difficulties which disappeared shortly after I began the study of this beautiful truth were periodical headaches so severe that they would cause fainting spells; also rheumatism and bladder trouble, both of many years' standing. These ailments left me without any specific work: they just went as the light of Truth flooded consciousness. Also, at the same time an obstruction in the nose, which a prominent physician said could be removed only surgically, disappeared, and I was freed from nasal trouble of several years' duration, manifesting itself in an annoying difficulty in breathing.
Up to this time I had been on the hills of joy and wonder, certain that my path from now on would be a rosy one; but I had to go down into the valley and prove every step of real progress by demonstration. But how gratifying it was to be able to use what I had learned scientifically; and also, how thankful I was to be able to call upon a practitioner when my understanding was not sufficient to meet the difficulty quickly!
