We read in Isaiah, "A little child shall lead them." This proved to be the case in our family. Our young son left home one Sunday morning with the desire to find a Sunday school that would meet his need. My husband had experienced much heartache in his youth because of the attitude of his family toward religion, and vowed that his son should always be free to worship God according to his light. So that explains how it came about that the boy went out to find for himself a Sunday school. He came home shouting, "I have found it, mother; I have found it." I asked just what he had found, and he said, "The real religion."
In about three weeks it was proved that he had found the real religion," for he insisted that if I would go with him that Sunday to church I would have no more of the difficulty I was then experiencing, an illness I had suffered from since early childhood. Doctors had tried again and again and had failed. My son insisted that I should be healed if I went to that church service. His confidence inspired me to leave my bed and go with him to the first Christian Science service I ever attended. The joyous feeling that came over me during the service is beyond description. I have never since had a return of that old difficulty. On Thanksgiving Day of that year my husband attended the service with us. On our return home, he remarked that he had been taught and had thought that Thanksgiving was for one day of each year, but that now he knew it was for every minute of our lives.
Christian Science has brought many blessings to us in every form, from the overcoming of a sense of limitation to the healing of broken bones. Our son broke his arm at the wrist. With the help of a loving practitioner and his own faithful reliance on the teachings of Christian Science, it healed perfectly without being set by a doctor. Another proof of God's loving care was shown when my husband was hit by a large motor bus and thrown ten feet to the sidewalk. For three weeks he devoted most of his time to the study of Christian Science, and at the end of that period he was as well as he had ever been. After this healing he found he had lost all desire for tobacco and other evils of a similar nature.
