Testimonies of Healing

It is with a heart full of gratitude...

From the May 1931 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I wish to relate a part of my experience in Christian Science, hoping that others who may be halting between two opinions will be encouraged to press on, for the right way will surely open.

Christian Science came to my notice in the first years of this century. Being a member of an orthodox church and taking a leading part in many of the church activities, I did not consider Christian Science seriously. I thought that it could be explained away, and even indulged in some arguments wherein I thought I was the victor.

About this time I met a young lady who was very enthusiastic over the experiences she had had and was having in Christian Science. She told me that her brother had just been restored to health from the last stage of typhoid fever and an abscess in the liver, after the doctors had said that nothing more could be done for him, and that he had but a short time to live. A Christian Science practitioner had been called and absent treatment given for three weeks, by the end of which the brother had completely recovered: he is living to-day. This was about twenty-eight years ago. This same young lady was healed of stomach trouble of an acute nature just by reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, a copy of which she had purchased.
