NEW PUBLISHING HOUSE

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, May 16,1931]

From the July 1931 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A SPECIAL fund has been established by The Mother Church for building the new Publishing House for The Christian Science Publishing Society, to be erected on Norway Street opposite The Mother Church edifice, according to the sketch printed in The Christian Science Monitor of April 17, which has been generally approved and greatly admired. The estimated cost of the new building is not less than $3,000,000, all of which it is confidently expected will be forthcoming in due course so that the traditions of the past will be upheld and the building be paid for when completed without calling for a temporary loan from outside sources.

To this end churches, societies, and other organizations and individuals in the field of Christian Science may send their contributions to the Treasurer of The Mother Church. Churches may find it expedient to establish a special fund to be kept open until the new Publishing House is completed, from which remittances may be made from time to time. Participation in some degree by every Christian Scientist in this latest extension of the purpose of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, will not only furnish needed funds in abundance, but will also cement into closer fellowship the relations between The Mother Church and its branches whereby is demonstrated "unity among brethren, and love to God and man" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany 274:24).
