"LOVE fulfils the law of Christian Science" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p.572). Heaven comes as the law of Love is fulfilled. The simplicity of spiritual progress is so childlike that we may overlook it in looking for something complex.
Heaven is gained by reflecting divine Love; it is never gained by waiting, by making a god of time, or by deifying the future. Two thousand years ago Jesus declared, "The kingdom of God is at hand." But many are waiting—waiting for the fulfillment of human plans, for the accomplishment of purely worldly schemes, for the carrying out of a substitute personal kingdom which they believe will produce an earthly heaven; and it is this false sense which shuts us out from heaven. Are we seeking to establish a kingdom of self; or is our consciousness an open channel for the expression of love?
Human ambition is only a hope; or, if accomplished, it never satisfies. Love is the expression of heaven's law. "Love is the fulfilling of the law," Paul declared.
