IN true spiritual being, each one of God's children individually reflects God's beauty and glory, each loving, and being blessed by, God's complete reflection as manifested by all of His ideas; and over and above all is the tender, loving Father-Mother God, rejoicing in His perfect creation. Zephaniah declares, "He will joy over thee with singing;" and in the book of Revelation we read, "For thy [God's] pleasure they are and were created."
In the early days of their awakening to their glorious inheritance as revealed to them through Christian Science, students are apt to spend much time in questioning other students who are willing to answer their questions, thinking thereby to hasten their own journey into the kingdom of heaven. Such a method, if carried too far, may be a deterrent to genuine growth in the understanding of Christian Science; and there generally comes a time when the student begins to realize that this promiscuous questioning and listening to long dissertations on the subject of Christian Science from others, or hearing of their methods in demonstration, has simply ushered him into a theoretical acquaintance with the letter of Christian Science, which, when he is confronted by a problem, fails to bring forth the fruit of demonstration.
This state of things may necessitate a much needed lesson in humility, and an apparent retreat when it is discovered that one is not so far on as one thought. Sometimes it is found that mistakes in the statement of the letter have been made, or unwise advice has been given by those undertaking to instruct the beginner; and the young student then and there makes a wise decision that in future he will learn of Truth from the inspired writings of the Bible and of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Thus he begins to learn of the things of God through his own persistent effort to comprehend and demonstrate both the letter and the spirit of Christian Science.
