Testimonies of Healing

It is with a heart full of gratitude...

From the February 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with a heart full of gratitude that I desire to add my testimony to the countless number which have already been given, and from which I myself have received a stimulus to press on. I was healed of sick headaches, supposedly hereditary, from which at times I would be confined to bed for a week; of chronic constipation, for which I had taken medicine as long as I could remember; and of stomach trouble which held me in bondage for many months. These healings took place through my reading and study of the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

A complete change had taken place in my thought as the result of this reading. As time went on, many other healings took place. Throat trouble which assailed me every winter— diphtheritic the doctor called it—disappeared. Ptomaine poisoning and many minor discordant conditions have been overcome. I have gained the courage to stand fast and wait on God in times of mental stress. I am profoundly grateful for the understanding we gain of God, which enables us to avail ourselves of His help in time of need, thus proving the words of the Bible that God is "a very present help in trouble." I am grateful for the Christian Science periodicals, with their ever broadening message. Daily I lift my voice in thanks to God for having led me into this study, which sheds its rays of spiritual light on the Bible, enabling mankind to prove the rich promises contained therein. I shall ever feel deeply grateful to our revered Leader, who so bravely stood the test of fiery trials, that all humanity might benefit from her discovery of the divine Principle through which Christ Jesus did his marvelous works. Even with a limited understanding of this Principle, applied, we may solve our daily problems.

For the loyal practitioners who have helped me along the road I am also grateful, as well as for the Directors of The Mother Church who are standing at the helm, faithful to their trust, and for all who are helping to carry the burden of the movement which means so much to the Christian Scientist. Words can never express my gratitude for the blessing Christian Science has been to me. —
