THE MOUNTAIN STREAM

From the February 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Oh, happy river,
Skipping, dancing, singing;
I love to hear your voice
With laughter ring.
You trip so merrily along,
You seem to sing a joyous song,
I seem to hear the message
Which you bring.

So calm, so clear,
And yet so swift and mighty;
Glad songs of peace and joy
You seem to sing
As if to shout
Your praise to God almighty—
As if it were your part
To do this thing.

Oh, may I learn
From your sweet song a lesson,
And not neglect my praises
To express
To God for all His goodness,
And His blessings,
His tender love and constant
Thoughtfulness.
