As a result of becoming disturbed in thought, I had a severe attack of bronchial catarrh accompanied by fever. I tried to hold the right thoughts, and whenever I employed my time in the reading of Christian Science literature my head became clearer; but afterwards the fever returned all the worse. When I had an attack of suffocation to overcome on the fifth day, my husband wished to call a physician. This I refused to do most decisively, but instead asked for Christian Science help. My husband telephoned to a practitioner, who lovingly began treatment on receipt of the message.
Two hours had barely elapsed after the call when the fever suddenly abated, my eyes became clear, and a feeling of peace and harmony pervaded me such as cannot be described. Only a slight weakness remained, and this vanished after a second treatment. Through this experience my husband gained the realization of the healing power of God, so that from that day he has been an earnest student of Christian Science.
Since that time we have been able to overcome headache instantaneously through simply holding to the truth; our little daughter has been healed of fever in two instances, and also of mumps. I can only add the expression of my desire for further enlightenment, which will enable us to press on bravely in the course we have taken. Bautzen, Germany.
