For all that the study of Christian Science and its application have brought into my life, I am profoundly grateful.
My first healing, after intense suffering with what physicians regard as a fatal malady, came at a time when to material sense there was little for which to live. Temporary relief then seemed available only through the administering of hypodermice and when, after many such experiences, the kind doctor advised an X-ray, one was taken. But before the report was available, another attack of the malady was experienced, and then I asked for Christian Science treatment. This was lovingly given by a kind practitioner, and relief was immediate. That was sixteen years ago, and the malady has never reappeared. A few days after this blessed experience the doctor called and, saying that his worst fears were realized, advised an immediate operation. He was told that healing had been accomplished in Christian Science, and that therefore an operation would not be necessary.
That healing has been followed by many others, and Christian Science, as exemplified by faithful practitioners, has never failed. But grateful as I am for all these healings, the most blessed experience is that resulting from persistent, individual study and demonstration. Many unlovable traits of character are yielding to the clarifying truth as taught in Science and Health, and are falling away one by one.
