VITALITY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL WORK

From the November 1934 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"THE present stage of progress in Christian Science presents two opposite aspects,—a full-orbed promise, and a gaunt want" (Miscellaneous Writings, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 355). Today the need for the unifying guidance of divine wisdom in the world is marked, and the fulfillment of the "full-orbed promise" of spiritual Truth increasingly longed for.

In these days when the pressing need for economy has led to a curtailment of certain branches of education, it is wonderful to contemplate that it will never be necessary to curtail true education, the Christianly scientific education of the children which, in accord with the providence of God, is leading thought toward the fulfilling of that "full-orbed promise." The work of the Christian Science Sunday School is not dependent upon general conditions. Our efforts, our understanding, our benevolence, our sympathy, can meet all demands made upon them, and thus we may prove the words of the hymn:

"When all material streams are dried, Thy fullness is the same."
